Esxence report: 2/3

Poi siamo andati a conoscere Vero Kern.

(segue)

ENGLISH TEXT
Then we went to smell perfumes by Vero Kern. I already met her the day before and I'll write about the wonderful time we spent together. Vero conquered veryone, I mean not only us but everyone at the event. Woman of great temperament and infinite tenderness, of indefinable age but in the period of wisdom, she introduced us her three small jewels: Kiki, the most notably lavender you can imagine, woody, modern, incredibly refined, well outside any cliché but redefining the very idea of lavender fragrance; Rubj, a flowery tuberouse powerfully sensual and cheerful, able to push the mood up and keep it in joyful state all day long (you have to test it on men skin!) and Onda, a leather-marine unusual, interesting, complex, very intellectual which gained us all. Vero's compositions are quite complex, masterfully orchestrated (only she could make a lavender last 8 hours!), rich with high quality naturals which make them vibrate up to turn the head. Turin dedicates to these three fragrances a lot of stars, I'd kiss him in the front (Italian way of expressing joy and gratitude) for this recognition. Probably Vero's not interested in stars very much, she wishes people to enjoy what she creates in her kitchen, by hand. The comments of participants about this Lady and the joyful vitality emanating from his creations made me think that yes, what she does has been understood. In Italy her fragrances are distributed only by Campomarzio70: the boys were outstanding, very available, they've devoted so much time, so many explanations and numerous samples to us. You feel they are driven by passion and it's a joy confronting with people like these. When scents are true art, they should be treated as such. As in art galleries, it's necessary for the gallery to devote time and energy to those who enter it, to enable them to fully enjoy what they are watching (in our case, smelling). So the artist's creativity and the aficionado's taste can meet, understand and start a happy marriage: the artist earns money and can continue to produce his/her art, the gallery owner earns money and can continue to offer Beauty in his/her gallery, the customer brings home a glimpse of Beauty that will illuminate his/her life and will give him pleasure for long. Combining art, passion, and money is possible: thanks guys for spending youselves with us!
And thanks also to Roberto Drago of Kaon, with whom we spent a wonderful half hour talking about major news I can't tell you anything about (but be prepared, they'll smell nice, with a signature we appreciate very much) . Roberto told us details behind the distribution of fragrances, helping us to better understand the mechanisms, and to clarify some doubts. Then he brought us to meet Pierre Guillaume (Parfumerie Generale). Pierre is delicious, full of enthusiasm and energy, he gave us a hit of adrenaline telling some interesting things about the structure of his fragrances, especially the woods he loves to use (especially patchouli and sandalwood) to create an effect. For example, the way he uses patchouli he when wants to create a patchouli fragrance or how he uses it to give weigh to more volatile notes. We tried some fragrances, such as the Patchouli and L'Ombre Fauve, which smells of an indefinibile powdery, touching tenderness. While chatting with us he stressed the need to create a shared olfactive vocabulary, so that everyone may understand the same thing when we speak of "milky" or "metallic" etc.. He spoke a respectfully slow and perfectly understandable French, we were absolutely fascinated by his tireless verve. To give us a preview he told us on his shelf there are four new fragrances now, ready to be launched, but he still doesn't know what order he'll sort them out... Meanwhile, we were able to bring home some samples of the ones in the line, kindly made available by Roberto. Parfumerie Generale fragrances are special, modern, not at all superficial, and need to be smelt calmly. I'm starting with Felanilla and Drama Nuui, I'm testing them today and I'll report soon. Meanwhile, Adjiumi niche Perfumes forum is about to begin a week dedicated to exploring the Parfumerie Generale fragrances!
While we were in the space Kaon there was time to try the new line "Sigilli" created by a perfumista who decided to skip to the other side, creating something personal to celebrate the beauty of his land and the Etruscan civilization which lived there millennia ago. Unfortunately he wasn't there, it would have been nice to be told how it's like, jumping to the other side! (follows)
