Hiroshima Mon Amour (work in progress #4)

Immagine
Some time ago Stephane mailed me some vials with his first explorations on the theme of Japan and an outline of the fragrance Hiroshima Mon Amour. Stephane's almost finished it and now is busy giving the final brushes, but the basic structure and most of the development, are there already. He defines it a "parfum de peau," and indeed it is; although it’s very present, stays near the skin and projects only a little. Here you have a draft of the packaging and the visual accompanying it, still to be confirmed.

Being primarily a painter, working on the visual part was certainly a much easier task for him. Hre above you may see the image that will be on the perfume box. Which, differently from the other boxes of the line,

Stephane emailed me a second report with his meditations and feelings about the new perfume " Hiroshima Mon Amour " he's working on. And soon I'll also post the visual of the whole project: very minimal, but vivid at the same time and high-impact. But now, let's hear what Stephane has to tell us about his creative process. Below, you will find also the French original text (thanks Nyneve/Anna Maria for the French vs. Italian translation!).

ENGLISH TEXT BELOW: SCROLL!

During Pitti Fragrances 2009 Stephan Humbert Lucas , creator -with his wife- of the artistic brand Nez à Nez ( website )asked if we could collaborate on a project. "There are things I have inside right now, and that relate to the concept of death, and I feel that I want to express them somehow. I'm thinking of a perfume named Hiroshima Mon Amour . The perfume of Death, a sort of Life chant. There is so much misinformation around the figure of the perfume composer, and instead I want to share my work with others, I want people to come into my creative process, to read it and follow it step by step. Attempts, mistakes, everything. But I paint, I create scents... I don't use words to tell things; Instead you don't compose, but I follow your blog, I saw that you tell things simply, as they are, I like that. I'll send you texts and drafts vials to sniff, you do whatever you want... ". Well, I am excited, grateful and happy because the journey to Hiroshima Mon Am
