Today the exhibition " Per-Fumum - the perfumes of history " at the Civic Museum of Palazzo Madama (Turin) Finally, everyone will be able to visit a unique exhibition in Italy, which traces over two thousand years of perfumery history, on which I and the other curators have been working for months. I cured the section on modern perfumery (from 1900 to the present day) with over a hundred ancient and modern bottles, ancient labels, posters and historical affiches of perfume houses ... The exhibition will end on May 21st (update: extended to June 25th !!!) Oggi apre   la  mostra "Per-Fumum - i profumi della storia"  a l Museo Civico di Palazzo Madama (Torino)  Finalmente tutti potranno visitare una mostra unica in Italia, che ripercorre oltre duemila anni di storia della profumeria, alla quale io e gli altri curatori stiamo lavorando da mesi . Io ho curato la sezione sulla profumeria moderna  (dal 1900 ai giorni nostri) con oltre cento tra flaconi antichi e moderni,   etichette antiche, manifesti e bozzetti storici delle case di profumo... Paloma y Raices. Ovvero la colomba e le sue radici. Ovvero Frida (Kahlo) e Diego (Rivera). Ovvero lo yang e lo yin. Ovvero gli opposti si uniscono per comporre l'Uno, elevandosi dalla propria limitatezza ed ascendendo a dimensioni più alte. Paloma y Raices di HomoElegans  ( sito qui )  è un'originalissima interpretazione della tuberosa, capace di riunirne in un'unica fragranza tutti gli aspetti verdi e naturali; quelli secchi, cuoiati ed affumicati, e infine quelli fluorescenti e plastificati. Qualunque sia la vostra idea di tuberosa, qui c'è. Ad una bella assoluta di tuberosa suonata quasi al massimo del volume è stato affiancato un fiore capace di suonare con la stessa intensità: l' ylang ylang .  L'accordo verde e mentolato dell'avvio è lì proprio per accogliere la parte più fresca ed erbacea del duo tuberosa/ylang e portarla verso il Cielo. Paloma y Raices. That is, the dove and its roots. That is Frida (Kahlo) and Diego (Rivera). That is, the yang and the yin. That is, opposites join together to compose the One, which at that point can rise from its own limitation and ascend to higher dimensions. Paloma y Raices by HomoElegans ( website here ) is a very original interpretation of tuberose, binding together all its different aspects in the same scent: the green and natural aspects the dry, leathery and smoky aspects, the fluorescent, latex-like ones. Whatever your tuberose idea, here it is. A full-sounding tuberose note is joined by a flower capable of playing with the same intensity: ylang yang .  The green and mentholated accord of the opening is right there to accommodate the coolest and herbaceous part of the tuberose/ylang duo and bring it to Heaven. Then a fruity-sour accord elongates the feeling of freshness, supporting tuberose/ylang's most exuberant and fluo

Quando Gian Luca Perris ha fatto sapere che stava componendo una fragranza alla tuberosa non vedevo l'ora di provarla: i profumi della sua linea Perris Montecarlo ( sito qui ) mostrano un grande amore per le materie prime e sanno metterle in risalto come pochi altri. La sua Tubereuse Absolue è disponibile sia in Eau de Parfum che in Parfum, con due formule diverse e in qualche modo, complementari. Un'idea che mi è piaciuta tantissimo. Nell'estratto la dominatrice incontrastata è un'assoluta crepuscolare, secca e profonda, piuttosto erbacea con una punta cuoiata e una affumicata che rendono il profumo ombroso, indomito, selvaggio, di una virilità inarrivabile (ma perfetto anche su pelle femminile! Certo, ci vuole una certa personalità…). L'EdP esplora una lato più gioioso, immediato, aperto , più vicino a come la intendo io. La tuberosa è affiancata a note salate e muschiate che ne esaltano la dolcezza plastificata, da crema solare. Il risultat

When Gian Luca Perris said he was composing a tuberose-based new perfume I could not wait to try it: the perfumes in his Perris Monte Carlo line ( website here ) show a great love for raw materials and emphasize them as few others. Like other fragrances in this brand, Tubereuse Absolue is available in both Eau de Parfum and Parfum , with two slightly different and somewhat complementary formulas. The Parfum is dominated by a beautifully dry and profound tuberose, herbaceous, smoky, with a hint of bark. This is a shady, indomitable, wild fragrance of untamed virility (but also pleasing to feminine skin! Obviously, a strong personlity is a prerequisite...). The EdP explores a more joyous, immediate, open side . The tuberose is coupled with a salty note that exalts its sweetness, with a plasticized, “sunscreen” side. The result is a soundly modern, fluorescent, exhilarating perfume. Good humor to wear. Same note, two complementary aspects.  In the end, Gian Luca has

  Entro nella stanza n.55 e vengo accolta da un ambiente completamente bianco . La moquette per terra è di uno spesso color crema, morbido e voluttuoso. Tutto il resto è bianco latte: i mobili sono stati avvolti in strati di lenzuola candide. L'idea è quella di annullare la percezione cromatica e lasciar spazio ad un'uniformità straniante.  Naomi Goodsir voleva evocare quelle notti d' insonnia quando la mente è immersa in un rumor bianco ronzante e indefinibile , che non ti permette di afferrare i pensieri, di riconoscere le emozioni.  Sei lì, alla deriva in una nebbia polverosa che ti ottunde il cervello, già mezzo intontito dal sonno eppure incapace di addentrarcisi , e ti sembra che non ne uscirai mai. Una cosa abbastanza disturbante. Nella stanza, l'unico stimolo che colpisce i sensi è un forte profumo vegetale, verde, magnetico, primitivo e gentile insieme . Ci si mette un po' a capirlo, ma è tuberosa. Anzi è il nuovo profumo alla Tuberosa di Nao
