Esxence - fotoaggiornamenti 3 / photoreport 3

Ma torniamo all'argomento.

Honoré de Pres is not a brand that I'm particularly fond of. And not for a question of  snobbery: I believe that, being requested of using only natural notes (the strong eco-friendly identity of the company required fragrances to be certified by Eco-Cert) the author, Olivia Giacobetti could hardly do anything more exciting or structured than this. The result is really too simple for me, they're little more than sketches, drafts, half-written pages, with unsatisfactory sillage and timing; they don't last enough time to develop the whole topic. Even if they are nicely done, I just can't consider them real perfumes. The short-life problem is due to the fact that nowadays fixatives are synthetic molecules, because the natural ones (civet, natural musk, ambergris, castoreum etc.) aren't anymore used for environmental and financial reasons; moreover they darken the juice inside the bottle, and dark brown juice discourages more "visually" oriented purchasers. But back to the topic. At some point they seem to have understood that:
- Such feeble edts may even be authored by great O. Giacobetti but this doesn't make them more satisfactory.
- Not everyone can spend 140 euros for a perfume which, after 15 minutes you feel compelled to reapply obsessively.
So they're launching three edps, more substantial and durable (but I haven't sprayed on skin yet), which I found intriguing. I Love Carottes is a minty-fresh poudrèe, pretty interesting, I want to spray it on skin to see how it develops. The carrot note, for its resemblance to orris suggests a kind of understated elegance which is effectively countered by a minty-fresh touch making it even "sporty". Coco Love is an unusual  coconut-Calone mix. It may sound horrible and in fact I doubt there may really be Calone, since the brand requires absolutely no synthesis, but just to give you an idea of how it smells like... coconut is not too creamy and the ozonic note isn't too strong, the scent is like a whisper, a breeze from the Bay. And the third, Vamp in New York is the most interesting of the three, I can't wait to wear it and see how it will be on skin (of course, I'll report).
