Bergamotto e Benzoino

My friends from Adjiumi Niche Perfumes have organized some interesting things on Saturday 27, and I've put together my own, so we have one agenda, interesting and varied. It will be a very exciting day, we'll have some events organized especially for us. The first is scheduled at 15.00, and it's entitled " Fragrance from the World "; it's organized by Mouillettes & Co. exclusively for Bergamotto e Benzoino. Together, we'll make a journey into olfactory cultures of the five Continents, exploring raw materials from Africa, South America, the Far East... we'll learn how they smell, how they are used in perfumery, perhaps recognizing which famous perfumes we have already smelled them in and will exchange impressions and sensations under the expert guidance of Maria Grazia Fornasier. Since places are limited, admission is by invitation only: ask me to send you the card!

This event, created in 1999, and now at its 12th edition, is hosted at the Congress Center in Grasse tomorrow (Saturday 6th) afternoon. As usual, Grassoises are stingy with details about what they do, so you won't find anything regarding this small event in the entire Web.  But if it's organized as the previous years, there will be lots of entertainment: -  Discovery area of some raw materials (usually there are Charabot, Mane, Robertet, and Laboratoire Monique Rémy) - International Museum of Perfume - Osmothèque of Versailles - Concours de nez - identification test of raw materials - A lecture delivered by some great perfumer. Last year there was Olivier Cresp, the year before it was Yves de Chiris. And dont' forget that this week end (March 6-7) in Tourrette Sur Loup there will be the Violette Festival!

La Giornata del profumo, creata nel 1999, ed oggi alla 12esima edizione, è ospitata al Centro Congressi di Grasse domani (sabato 6) al pomeriggio. Come al solito i Grassois sono avari di particolari su quel che fanno, e di questo piccolo evento non trovate niente in giro, nemmeno sulla Rete. Ma se è organizzato nello stesso modo degli anni scorsi, ci saranno diverse animazioni: - spazi di scoperta di alcune materie prime (di solito ci sono Charabot, Mane, Robertet e Laboratoire Monique Rémy) - Stand Museo Internazionale della Profumeria - Stand Osmothèque di Versailles - "Concours de nez" con test dell'olfattivo di riconoscimento delle materie prime - Una lettura/discorso di qualche grande profumiere; l'anno scorso c'era Olivier Cresp, l'anno precedente Yves de Chiris. Ah, inoltre sempre questo week end (6-7 marzo) a Tourrette Sur Loup, c'è il Festival della Violetta!

My friend Francesca was recently in Paris and brought me back a small vial of Acqua Universalis by Maison F. Kurkdjian . She also gave me a box of mint-scented bubbles.Bubbles, yes, those for children to blow. Fanciful item (but not what I wanted to talk to you). I was waiting eagerly for her return because I had read wonders about the A.U. and I had great expectations.

La mia amica Francesca è stata recentemente a Parigi e mi ha portato una fialetta di Acqua Universalis della Maison F. Kurkdjian. Mi ha anche portato una confezione di bolle profumate alla menta. Bolle, sì, proprio quelle per i bambini, quelle da soffiare. Oggettino sfizioso, che ha sfiziato per prima lei e poi anche me (ma non è di questo che volevo parlarvi).

Domani da Caleri, in via XXV Aprile (tel. 010 581312) parleremo di Agrumi e Vaniglia! L'incontro, dal titolo " Winter Blues Bye Bye: scacciare la tristezza dell'inverno con l'energia degli agrumi e la carezza della vaniglia ", inizia intorno alle 18. Per primi esamineremo alcuni oli essenziali agrumari ed esploreremo molte, moltissime fragranze che contengono limone, bergamotto, lime, arancio dolce, petit-grain, pomplemo, mandarino e cedro, per proseguire con alcune fragranze alla vaniglia: Vanilia e Havana Vanille dell'Artisan Parfumeur, la Vanille di St. Barth, Chyprè Vanille di Montale, Bal Musquè di Nez à Nez.
