Bergamotto e Benzoino

Bodies controlling the safety of perfumery items in Europe are two: European Union and IFRA (International Fragrance Association). The EU has regulated the use of 26 raw materials deemed as allergens, through Directive 76/768/ECC. The Directive contains the list of all 26 allergens which can be used safely in perfumes only within limits defined by the Directive. In case of higher concentration, which could trigger skin problems, the presence of the allergenic raw material must, by law, be highlighted on the packaging. For this reason, on some perfume boxes you can read "Ingredients: limonene, linalool, etc..." It's a way to indicate that these materials are used in a higher concentration than that prescribed by law, so that those consumers with specific allergies are warned about it.

Gli Enti che controllano la sicurezza dei prodotti di profumeria in Europa sono principalmente due: l'Unione Europea e l'IFRA (International Fragrance Association). L'UE ha regolamentato l'uso di 26 materie prime attraverso la direttiva 76/768/ECC . Le 26 materie prime considerate allergeniche possono essere usate nei profumi in maniera sicura solo entro le concentrazioni definite dalla normativa. In caso di concentrazione maggiore, che quindi potrebbe scatenare problemi cutanei, la presenza dell'allergene deve essere, a norma di legge, evidenziata sull'imballaggio. Per questo motivo su alcune scatole di profumo si trova la dicitura “Ingredienti: limonene, linalolo ecc.”. ENGLISH TEXT BELOW: SCROLL! Ho incontrato Stephane Humbert Lucas durante una cena, a Pitti Immagine Fragranze 2009. Stephane, creatore con la moglie del marchio Nez à Nez ( qui la loro filosofia ) mi ha detto che segue Bergamotto e Benzoino perchè gli piace il modo onesto con cui vengono trattati gli argomenti del profumo, senza fronzoli e senza prendersi troppo sul serio. Mi ha raccontato che "In questo momento ci sono delle cose che ho dentro e che riguardano il concetto della Morte, e sento che le voglio esprimere. Sto pensando ad un profumo che s'intitoli Hiroshima Mon Amour un profumo sulla Morte, un canto alla Vita. Ci sono così tante mistificazioni intorno alla figura del compositore di profumi, e invece io voglio condividere il mio lavoro, voglio che le persone entrino nel mio processo creativo, che lo possano leggere, seguire passo passo. Tentativi, errori, tutto. Ma io dipingo, compongo profumi... non so usare le parole per raccontare; tu invece i profumi non li com...

The most important innovation of this year was the change of location, and while the Stazione Leopolda is a fascinating, roomy place (exhibitors rose from 110 to 160), the charm of the Gardens of Palazzo Corsini was a little bit missing. But since summer showers are romantic only if you can enjoy them in the countryside, the new location avoided us getting completely wet as in previous years (and that was certainly good). Moreover, substituting the bucolic location with a more "professional" one has brought a quantum leap in the event. Pitti Immagine Fragranze is a special occasion for many reasons. Firts, rarely you're allowed to try all the fragrances in a brand. And if you ask, only at he Olfattorio Bar à Parfum you are allowed to do it (and without faces).

La novità più importante di quest’anno è stato il cambio di location, e se da un lato la Stazione Leopolda è un luogo affascinante e più capiente (gli espositori sono passati da 110 a 160), il fascino dei Giardini di Palazzo Corsini è un po’ mancato. Ma siccome i temporali estivi sono romantici solo se puoi stare ad ammirarli in campagna, il non essersi inzuppati come gli anni scorsi è stato senz’altro un bene. Inoltre, il fatto di avere una location meno bucolica e più “professionale” secondo me ha portato un salto di qualità nell’evento. Pitti Immagine Fragranze è un’occasione speciale perché raramente puoi provare tutte le fragranze di un marchio. E se anche lo chiedi, solo all’Olfattorio sei sicuro di poterlo fare (senza smorfie). Invece, sentire tutte le fragranze di un marchio è importante perché ti permette di capire cosa vuol dire quel marchio o quel creatore attraverso le sue fragranze, capisci se dietro c’è una visione estetica e qual’è , e questo è fondamentale per capire ...

(This post originates here ) Then we moved to the stand of Nobile1942, where Stefania introduced Nobile1942 fragrance line and the novelty of Frapin, L'Humaniste that they import in Italy. (questo post inizia qui ) Poi ci siamo spostati allo stand di Nobile 1942 , dove Stefania ha conosciuto i partecipanti e ha presentato le fragranze della linea Nobile 1942 e la novità di Frapin, L’Humaniste . Ecco, questa fragranza ha lasciato tutti un po’ perplessi, ho sentito commenti un po’ così… non sembra un Frapin, manca di quella liquorosa corposità che invece c’è negli altri. Nei Frapin i fiori sono potenti, le spezie belle rotonde; sono profumi hanno un corpo, un’eleganza che ormai è conosciuta. L’Humaniste invece va in una direzione completamente opposta: freddo e metallico, un profumo di vetro e acciaio, lo devo risentire con calma perché mi ha spiazzata completamente. Stefania ha poi presentato le due nuove creazioni di Nobile 1942, Casta Diva e il Patchouli , (ne avevo parlato già qui ) che come mi aspettavo sono piaciuti a molti, e a questo punto ci è stato chiesto un piccolo aiuto. Questo post inizia qui Dopo il pranzo (devo dire scarsino: ehi Pitti, non è che il prossimo anno potete chiedere porzioni e piatti da maratoneta anziché da asceta?) abbiamo raggiunto lo spazio conferenze, dove Cristian e io eravamo ospiti di Ornella Pastorelli , creatrice di Casaroma , alla presentazione della nuova linea di fragranze per ambiente“ La Gioia del Ricordo ”. Qualche mese fa, in occasione della giornata al Soffitto Viola di Iseo , Ornella ci aveva già parlato di queste nuove quattro fragranze, e ci aveva chiesto se poteva inviarcele per avere un parere; siccome ci sono piaciute, Ornella ha voluto che l’aiutassimo a presentarle. Così ci siamo accomodati con lei nella sala; e mentre i feltrini imbevuti di fragranza (un agrumato vivace, un bel verde/legnoso, un delicatissimo fiorito e un gourmand/legnoso) giravano tra il pubblico, lei ha raccontato i ricordi da cui sono scaturite le fragranze.
