Bergamotto e Benzoino

Meo e un gruppo di amici fanno un viaggio in India. Anzi, un Viaggio. Di quelli che ti cambiano la vita. Che riposizionano le priorità e ti costringono a cercare significati oltre le parole. Al ritorno, Meo compone Varanasi, la tappa finale di un percorso che lo ha portato a toccare corde interiori molto profonde.  Le note animali e i semi d'ambretta spiccano su tutte le altre: calore, conforto della pelle, odore di umanità. Caldo, sporco, carico di tutte le umane grandezze e debolezze.  Poi le spezie, che non hanno nulla di gastronomico, ma suggeriscono un Altrove che è dentro ognuno di noi.  Poi l'incenso e i fiori: rosa e gelsomino. Lo yin e lo yang, notte e giorno, vita e morte.  Per me è fin troppo emozionante per riuscire a portarlo così, tra autobus, palestra ed ufficio. Richiede silenzio, presenza, richiede di essere ascoltato. E ha ragione: l'uomo che torna a casa non è mai lo stesso che ha iniziato il Viaggio.

Quando una persona che ha parlato, analizzato, scoperto, condiviso profumi per quindici anni decide di comporre un progetto a proprio nome, esponendo le proprie idee e la propria creatività al giudizio altrui, corre un rischio e lo sa benissimo: il risultato deve soddisfare aspettative altissime. Sono grata a Cristian Cavagna , cuore pulsante e fondatore del forum e pagina Facebook Adjiumi per aver corso questo rischio.  La sua "Dolce q.b." è bellissima.  Parla d’amore e di gioia di vivere, di ottimismo e di forza, di coraggio e di una sincerità disarmante.  Dolce q.b. e’ un estratto , quindi potente e diffusivo. " Andy Warhol: You're in !" by Maurice Roucel for Comme des Garçons  is a classic cologne (aldehydes, citrus fruits, spices, flowers, musky notes).  And indeed, thanks to the infinite Mastery of Roucel, it feels  crystal clear,  extremely refined, and endowed with a classy, magnificent essentiality. But it also shows an originality that struck me a lot: it features an  indefinable metallic quality, as cold and artificial as the smiles of the soubrette presenting the Superfamous on duty.  It sounds recognizable, almost banal in its simplicity,  Yet...  Yet, it is weirdly original. WEIRDLY.   The short pyramid reveals the clarity of intention with which Maurice Roucel wins me every time. The 'hook' linking Perfumery to art, this time, is Andy   Warhol's artwork "You're In!" , w hich Warhol created in 1967 with Coca-Cola bottles in a yellow tray.  The subject he chose is pop. “ Andy Warhol: You’re in !” di Maurice Roucel per Comme des Garçons (2017) è una colonia classica (aldeidi, agrumi, spezie, fiori, note muschiate) che grazie alla Maestria infinita di Roucel risulta  raffinatissima, nitidissima, magnifica nella sua essenzialità.  Tuttavia, è anche dotata di un’originalità che mi ha colpita molto:  Possiede un’indefinibile qualità metallica, artificiale come i sorrisi della soubrette che presenta il Superfamoso di turno. You're in!  è riconoscibile, quasi banale, eppure  Suona incredibilmente moderna .  La Piramide corta rivela quella chiarezza d’intenzione con cui Roucel mi conquista ogni volta. Il ‘gancio’ è l’Opera “ you’re in! ”, che Warhol realizzo’ nel 1967.  Il soggetto scelto è pop. Poppissimo. Il massimo del pop, come può essere una bottiglia di Coca-Cola (o una colonia, nel nostro caso).   Today I'm wearing Megamare by Orto Parisi. It is difficult to define it as an "ozonic" perfume.  Ozonics are something else... They take the salty/metallic smell of the sea and use it to suggest cleanliness, freshness, salt, holidays, and laughter. Megamare  instead captures the breath of the True, primordial, alive Sea  that attracts and frightens you at the same time, what you perceive as a living creature with a will of its own. Oggi sto provando Megamare di Orto Parisi.   Difficile definirlo un profumo "ozonico".  Gli ozonici sono un'altra cosa.  Gli ozonici Prendono l'odore salato/metallico del Mare e lo usano per suggerire pulizia, freschezza, sale, vacanze, risate... Megamare invece no.  Megamare cattura il respiro del Mare Vero, primordiale, vivo . Quello che ti attira e ti spaventa, quello che percepisci come una creatura vivente dotata di volontà propria.  In Megamare la storia superficiale è raccontata dalla brezza ozonica: ovvero la pelle quando il salino si asciuga, le mareggiate invernali, le alghe secche sulla spiaggia, l'odore delle creature morte che rotolano ed ondeggiano a pochi centimetri dalla battigia...  Ma questa brezza ozonica serve solo per permetterti di scivolare, pian piano, a mille metri di profondità, dove si forma il Maelstrom , vortice possente ed invincibile, che arrivando in superficie ti ipnotizza e ti risucchia dentro.  Mi piace quando percepisco una simi

Paloma y Raices. Ovvero la colomba e le sue radici. Ovvero Frida (Kahlo) e Diego (Rivera). Ovvero lo yang e lo yin. Ovvero gli opposti si uniscono per comporre l'Uno, elevandosi dalla propria limitatezza ed ascendendo a dimensioni più alte. Paloma y Raices di HomoElegans  ( sito qui )  è un'originalissima interpretazione della tuberosa, capace di riunirne in un'unica fragranza tutti gli aspetti verdi e naturali; quelli secchi, cuoiati ed affumicati, e infine quelli fluorescenti e plastificati. Qualunque sia la vostra idea di tuberosa, qui c'è. Ad una bella assoluta di tuberosa suonata quasi al massimo del volume è stato affiancato un fiore capace di suonare con la stessa intensità: l' ylang ylang .  L'accordo verde e mentolato dell'avvio è lì proprio per accogliere la parte più fresca ed erbacea del duo tuberosa/ylang e portarla verso il Cielo. Quando Gian Luca Perris ha fatto sapere che stava componendo una fragranza alla tuberosa non vedevo l'ora di provarla: i profumi della sua linea Perris Montecarlo ( sito qui ) mostrano un grande amore per le materie prime e sanno metterle in risalto come pochi altri. La sua Tubereuse Absolue è disponibile sia in Eau de Parfum che in Parfum, con due formule diverse e in qualche modo, complementari. Un'idea che mi è piaciuta tantissimo. Nell'estratto la dominatrice incontrastata è un'assoluta crepuscolare, secca e profonda, piuttosto erbacea con una punta cuoiata e una affumicata che rendono il profumo ombroso, indomito, selvaggio, di una virilità inarrivabile (ma perfetto anche su pelle femminile! When Gian Luca Perris said he was composing a tuberose-based new perfume I could not wait to try it: the perfumes in his Perris Monte Carlo line ( website here ) show a great love for raw materials and emphasize them as few others. Like other fragrances in this brand, Tubereuse Absolue is available in both Eau de Parfum and Parfum , with two slightly different and somewhat complementary formulas. The Parfum is dominated by a beautifully dry and profound tuberose, herbaceous, smoky, with a hint of bark. This is a shady, indomitable, wild fragrance of untamed virility (but also pleasing to feminine skin! Obviously, a strong personlity is a prerequisite...). The EdP explores a more joyous, immediate, open side . The tuberose is coupled with a salty note that exalts its sweetness, with a plasticized, “sunscreen” side. A me Naomi Goodsir (sito qui ) piace molto. Potrebbe tirarsela, brava com'è.  E invece no.  Lei arrossisce, quando le dici che il suo nuovo lavoro è eccezionale. E aggiunge: ”Isabelle è stata bravissima”. Infatti per la sua ultima nata, Nuit de Bakélite , Naomi ha scelto nientemeno che Isabelle Doyen (Annick Goutal, Lez Nez). Nuit de Bakelite è una tuberosa nature , cioè lasciata al naturale senza tutti quei siliconi, neon fluorescenti, tacchi alti e labbra lucide a cui siamo abituati. Semplice. Come un fiore bianco e perfetto che svetta su uno stelo altissimo, vestito solo della sua verità. Una tuberosa verde, vegetale, umida, lievemente fumosa, potentemente sensuale proprio perchè completamente nuda ed esposta allo sguardo. Nuit de Bakélite (by Isabelle Doyen), the new addition in Naomi Goodsir's already excellent line ( website here ),  is a “ nature ” tuberose, that is with no silicones, fluorescent neons, high heels and shiny lips and all the rest we are used to. Nuit de Bakelite is simple. Linear. Like a perfect, white flower standing on a tall stem, wearing only its truth. A green, vegetable, damp, slightly smoky fragrance, with a powerful sensuality deriving from being naked and exposed. The green side of this flower is backed by a bouquet of galbanum, angelica, davana, violet leaves and karo karounde, a natural, green, lush accord with such a strong personality would do the fragrance alone . L'ultimo lavoro di Antonio Alessandria ( sito qui ), come suggerisce il nome Fleurs et Flammes , è un fuoco d'artificio di fiori.  Sulla pelle femminile risulta già bello, ma ho l'impressione sia stato composto per omaggiare la pelle maschile. Sì, perchè questo bouquet fiorito, pur sontuoso e ricco, non di meno è sobrio, elegante, trattenuto , e sulla pelle maschile dà veramente il meglio di sé. Come se Antonio stesse cercando di dare una misura alla sua esuberanza compositiva, e nel fare questo, stesse raggiungendo un livello maggiore di astrazione .  Detto così Fleurs et Flammes sembrerebbe un profumo concettuale e ”difficile”, ma non lo è: tutti i profumi di Antonio si caratterizzano per note ricche e corpose, textures soddisfacenti, quasi tattili , e questo non fa differenza. Però... Però ci sento una ricerca di quella linearità, di quella maggiore asciuttezza creativa -caratteristica rara ed affascinante- che caratterizza la famiglia degli chypre.  Bergamo

Antonio Alessandria 's last work, as the name suggest (Fleurs et Flammes means Flowers and Flames), is a fireworks of flowers , that bloom women's skin, but I have the impression they were made up to homage male skin. This flower bouquet, though sumptuous and rich, is no less sober, elegant, restrained , and on male skin really gives the best of itself. As if Antonio was trying to manage his compositional exuberance, and in doing so, he was reaching a higher level of abstraction . That said, Fleurs et Flammes would look like a conceptual and "difficult" perfume, but it is not: all Antonio's perfumes are characterized by rich and sophisticated notes, satisfactory textures, almost tactile, and this makes no difference. However... However I found a search for linearity, for a greater dryness, characterizing the chypre family . Bergamot, lemon, rose, lily, white flowers, woods, musk notes make up one of the few real modern chypre : lights and shadows, fireworks

A me i fioriti aldeidati piacciono moltissimo. Ne indosso e ne ho indossati tanti, ognuno con la sua voce, con la sua personalità, con le sue differenze. Ma questo qui, proprio, non mi ha convinta. E mi dispiace dirlo. Superstitious di Alber Elbaz per Frederic Malle è un profumo perfettamente eseguito e con discrete materie prime, ma s e fosse uscito negli anni Settanta o Ottanta sarebbe stato corretto; oggi, secondo me è fuori tempo massimo. Dopo un avvio -5 minuti scarsi- veramente intriganti, tutto il resto è roba già sentita quarant'anni fa.  Ho pensato che Elbaz, da bambino, avesse una mamma, una zia, nonna o qualcun altro che indossava fioriti aldeidati potenti e saponosi com'erano di moda allora. E che questi si siano impressi nella sua memoria così potentemente che quando si è ritrovato a comporre il “suo” profumo, ha finito per ricrearne una summa perfetta. I love floral aldehydic fragrances. I've been wearing so many of them, with their different voices, personalities, differences. But this one, well, no. And I'm sorry to say so. Superstitious, by Alber Elbaz and Dominique Ropion for Frederic Malle is a perfectly executed scent, but...it smells terribly agée.  Had it been released in the 1970s or 1980s it would have been correct, but today it is simply out of time. I imagine that Elbaz, as a child, had a mother, aunt, grandmother or someone else who was wearing powerful floral aldehydics so fashionable then. And that these have impressed Elbaz' memory so powerfully that when he was having his fragrance composed, he ended up recreating a perfect resumè. Blossoming, water-like, cold and green notes associated with rose, jasmine and a ton of aldehydes feature the ideal accord to pull out that clean, cold, soapy sensation typical of vintage aldehydic florals . Quando Rossella Gatti mi ha contattata per mandarmi le sue due ultime creazioni per la sua linea L'O' Profumo ( sito qui ) , intitolate “ L'Ossido” e “L'Angelo ”, io non sapevo nulla di lei. Ma ora che ho provato le prime due sono ossessionata dall'idea di conoscere anche tutte le altre, mannaggia a lei! Cominciamo dall'Ossido, che si ispira all'odore della ruggine. Cioè, della ruggine che c'è a casa sua, perchè la ruggine di casa mia, purtroppo, odora diversamente. Questa qui profuma di spezie fredde, elicriso, galbano, incenso, lavanda ed un curioso sentore di sesamo tostato che non conoscevo . Al centro di quest'accordo tutto giocato su sensazioni luminose, fredde, secche, agresti, si trova una magnifica nota di ossido di rosa , pungente, metallica, con solo una lievissima sensazione fiorita di tipo “geranio”. Questa nota, piuttosto difficile da addomesticare, qui è perfettamente dosata per prendere il centro del palco senza adombrar

When Rossella Gatti contacted me in order to send me her last two creations named " L'Ossido " and " L'Angelo"  I didn't know anything about her and her line L'O Profumo" ( website here ). However, I liked them both so much that now I'm obsessed with the idea of smelling all the others. L'Ossido (Oxide) is inspired by the smell of rust . That is, the rust that is at her home, because rust, in my house, unfortunately, smells differently. This one smells of cold spices, helycrisum, galbanum, incense, lavender and a curious note of roasted sesame that I did not know. Ovvero, dell'ambra, sull'ambra e intorno all'ambra. L'ambra è stato il mio primo amore, quello che mi ha introdotta alla profumeria artistica, attraverso l'Ambra di Etro e l'Ambre di Reminiscence.  Quindi una fragranza come OR Cashmere di Uer Mì ( sito qui ) non poteva non piacermi, è tutto ciò che un ambrato dovrebbe essere: opulento, caldo, sfaccettato, secco, speziato, gourmand, assolutamente esotico e, insieme, anche carezzevole e rassicurante . Più che un profumo, una coccola, che si indossa per proprio piacere personale. Apre con cardamomo, cannella, timo ed una nota secca e croccante di nocciola, che compongono un accordo di testa secco e pungente, speziato e agreste. Benzoino, cisto labdano, ambra grigia, patchouli, sandalo e vaniglia compongono la base ambrata, di grande eleganza e compostezza .
